First Friday VIRTUAL Open Mic

First Friday Open Mic for January 2022 is upon us. Join hosts, Larry Power, and Lee Eric Freedman for inspiring spoken word, musical performances and the famous "name your talent" at the best open mic in Swampscott, MA.

This months featured guest is "Generalissimo” Bryan Franco - a gay, Jewish, 55-year-old poet/spoken word performer who moved from Alabama to Maine in 2001. He has been writing since the 1990’s, was a member of the Portland Maine Rhythmic Cypher slam team that competed in the 2014 National Poetry Slam in Oakland, California and is also a painter, sculptor, gardener, and culinary genius. 

He hosts Café Generalissimo Open Mic and is a member of Beardo Bards of the Bardo with Dane Ince and Michael Sindler.  He has been published in Love Letters to Gaia, Poetry in the Brew Sinew, 2020 Writing from Inlandia, Moonstone Arts Nonsense Verse, Moonstone Arts, The American War Against Itself, Moonstone Arts 25^th Anniversary Poetry Ink, Globalization (Australia), Same Page (Ireland), and Puppycat anthologies; also, Anecdote, Down in the Dirt, and CC&D literary magazines. 

He has featured for They Call Me Mitch, Mahopoc Writers, 1428 Poets, Word is Write, Glasgow Scotland Stay At Home Fringe Fest (with the Beardos), Creative Expressions NYC, Port Veritas, Why Open Pandora’s Box, Eyepublishewe Poets Celebrate Our Dead, Time to Arrive,  and Like a Blot From the Blue, (Scotland), Incite (England), Write & Release (England), Spoken World Online a.k.a. Paris (Canada) also, Phynnecabulary, Poets of the East, and Friday Night Live (Ireland) podcasts.  He has also facilitated workshops for Tumblewords Project and Phynnecabulary Poetry Games. In November 2021, his book Everything I Think is All in My Mind was published by Read or Green Books.
