First Friday VIRTUAL Open Mic

First Friday Open Mic for November 2021 is upon us. Join hosts, Larry Power, and Lee Eric Freedman for inspiring spoken word, musical performances and the famous "name your talent" at the best open mic in Swampscott, MA.

This month's featured guest is Harry J Durso. Harry is a poet from Lawrence, Mass and is a member of The Robert Frost Foundation.

He has read his poetry at their monthly Hoots at Café Azteca in Lawrence, MA and has also produced and hosted, An Evening of Poetry with the Students of Andover High School, for the last eleven years. This event is shown on local cable access stations in the Merrimack Valley. His poem, Lawrence Down, which depicted the horrors of the Merrimack Valley Gas Explosion in 2018, was chosen by the Lawrence History Center to become part of the historical archive of the event. He also participates monthly in the open mic nights in North Andover, Swampscott, and Rockport, Massachusetts and was invited by Bob Whalen to read at the Rockport Poetry Festival’s Global Voices Event on April 18, 2021 which featured poets from 23 countries. He is currently putting the finishing touches and edits on two poetry collections, entitled, Biker on the Merrimack, and Three Songs.
